Wedding FAQ’s

Any Questions?

How far in advance should I book my wedding photographer?

We typically book between 10-14 months in advance. That said, if you are late to the game, shoot us a message – we may still have your date available or be able to recommend another great pro who does!

How do I book you for my wedding?

First, lets meet! Unless you are super far away – in that case, let’s chat on the phone, or Skype. ┬áIt’s important to determine that we are a good fit – we’ll be spending one of the most important days of your life together, we should first make sure that we vibe well.

From there, we can discuss the details of your day, give our recommendations on coverage needed and put together a package that works best for you. A $500 retainer and signed wedding agreement are required to secure your wedding date.

How long have you been photographing weddings?

2015 is our 7th wedding season (that is crazy). We hit wedding #100 in September 2013 – on to the next 100!

How would you describe your style?

Our wedding photography is a mix of photojournalism and posed portraiture. The goal is to capture moments rather than posed cheeses. Ceremony & reception coverage are shot from a guest point of view.

Couple & wedding party formals are always shot with the maximum amount of awesome in mind. We are fun, and laid back, and that is how we shoot. Occasional heckling from groomsmen is our favorite thing ever.

While we will take posed group shots of wedding guests when asked, we rarely put people together for them – we’d rather catch them laughing, hugging, dancing their arses off…

What is a “First Look”, and is it something I want to do?

A first look is a private, pre-ceremony meeting between the bride & groom – which we are there to photograph. Once everyone is all prettied up and ready to go, we select a private location to meet. Jen & Groomykins head down to said location and wait for Shannon and Beautiful Bridey to meet them there. The experience yields wonderful images – seeing eachother for the first time without a gazillion wedding guests there takes some of the pressure off, but still maintains the wow factor. We love first looks, and offer them to all of our couples. We especially recommend them to couples with later ceremonies or minimal time between ceremony & reception. If you need more persuasion, we’d be happy to show you some of our favorite first look images….
